Hello! My name is Roen Cloutier.
I was born in 2001 and was home-schooled most of my life by my family of artists.
I do a lot of ink linework with watercolor in my compositions, but I also do receipt collages, acrylic painting, and digital work for video game concepts and UI. Major themes in my artwork include: gravity, memory, the mind, the inevitability of death, beauty in the broken (wabi-sabi), among others. I make art with such themes to show an interesting new perspective, with the common theme of refuting the self absorbed and proud. I consider my art to be very much tied to my religious beliefs.
I got a great deal of inspiration from all art avenues. I got inspiration from animators such as Genndy Tartakovsky and Peter Chung, illustrators such as Stuart Sayger, Syd Mead and Mike Mignola, as well as poets such as Emily Dickenson and Edgar Allen Poe.
